I think The Capitol was the 1st movie theatre I ever attended without my parents…in the late 50’s. On Saturdays there was always a double feature + shorts + cartoons…all for thirty five cents.
Also, I was a student @ St. Peter’s grammer school in Beleville. One day the school rented the theatre so every student could see “The Song of Bernadette.” Will always remember this.
Everyone went to The Colony. Saw a lot of good movies there. After the show, everybody went up the street to Friendly’s. Lots of good memories.
