I remember this playground area back in the ‘60s when my parents used to take my sister and myself to the New Moon. I can remember one of the movies seen was, “Yours, Mine and Ours.”
I remember going here almost every weekend back in the early 1980s. Some really badly dubbed R-rated foreign films that made no sense. I guess that wasn’t the point, though, it was just a night out. LOL
That’s interesting. I didn’t know about the Dixie. The only theatre I was aware of that was an African-American theatre in Lake Charles was the Ebony. This was back in the ‘70s.
I remember going here one rainy night (I don’t live in Texas) back in 1980 to see the Jodie Foster movie ‘Foxes’ that was playing with ‘Blue Lagoon.’ What a trip.
