Thanks for the picture of Park Royal Theatre’s interior. I never thought I would see it. Funny enough I saw a video on West Edmonton Mall’s movie theatres and the guy said pictures were not taken of the older theatres because it was pre-smartphone age. Park Royal Theatres came to mind.
I remember going to this movie theater when watching Prince of Egypt and LOTR II, back when Famous Players was around. What a nostalgic time. For the past fews years, when I was at Metrotown and I was near SilverCity, I got so excited. I have seen some movies from here recently (Ted, Horrible Bosses, Skyfall 2nd time, The Dictator, Dredd, the beginning of Bridesmaids, etc.)
I only recall being here once, but man, what a nostalgic time. I remember being here during the release of the Matrix and Message in a Bottle. Every time I pass this area, from that time to this day, I get so excited. Even this picture is entrancing. I’d like to see a movie in this theater one day, if only I know how to get here by bus.
This is the theater I have gone to most in the past 4-5 years. Like these people said before, I remember years ago, I do not remember when, that this was called the Paramount Theater.
I surely did miss this theater when it was Famous Players. I remember my dad making me and my brother to this movie theater back in the day. I like this theater and I still occasionally go here with friends and my brothers, but I do not really like the Empire brand. Not that I hate it, but it does not hold a candle on Famous Players.

I uploaded a photo of the Park Royal Cinema exterior in 1997. I hope nobody minds.
If anybody has better quality photos or photos of the interior, I would greatly appreciate it.
There are talks about a new Park Royal Movie theatre due late 2013.
