Ideal is an old theater (1919) formed in the previous atrium of an old building. It operated as theater and movie theater. Burnt three times (!) it was refurbished after the third one (about 1990).
This cinema is far from the port. It is located in Athens center. It was not built as a movie theater but as a shop which was converted very roughly to a “cinema”. Not a “treasure” at all.
Anesis does not exist any more. From 2005 a little part of the old auditorium is kept and transformed to a small theater, which does not remind the old movie theater at all. The wide entrance also is transformed to a shop and now there is a small new entrance. The large foyer on the 1st floor is also abandoned.
Star is closed now (since 2010).
It started as a very good cinema after the war, it finished badly due to movie theaters crisis and to its district.

Lux was a temporary additional name when Lux cosmetics were sponsoring this movie theater. Initial name was Salon Ideal and later simply Ideal.
