Not only does the city spend a large sum of money annually for its street lighting, but the merchants have acquired the “electric sign habit” and they vie with one another in producing sign creations that are dazzling in the extreme.</p>

  • <p>Till the mid 70s about this looked pretty much the same. Bonds was still open with the sign lit up at night and ate with friends at the Woolworths after This is Cinerama at the Ziegfeld. Waitresses at lunch counter still had those white uniforms.</p>
