  • <p>Till the mid 70s about this looked pretty much the same. Bonds was still open with the sign lit up at night and ate with friends at the Woolworths after This is Cinerama at the Ziegfeld. Waitresses at lunch counter still had those white uniforms.</p>

  • <p>The old FOX signs, both vertical and horizontal, were removed after age started to take it’s toll.<br>We recreated the horizontal FOX sign and lit it with brand new neon!<br>We also rewired all of the lights along the marquee. 2017-2018</p>

  • <p>Lewis M. Townsend and William H. Hennesey created optical effects for prologue shows at the Eastman in 1925 that shocked and delighted patrons including the illusion of trains coming out into the audience, stage objects appearing to be on fire, and penguins waddling onto the stage. Here’s a photo that doesn’t do much justice but, then again, maybe you get the idea.</p>
  • <p>The Eastman will always be remembered for house artist Batiste Madalena who created among the most spectacular original art posters in American cinema history for the Eastman. Fortunately, he salvaged many of his works from the trash and many survive and are in museums and galleries.</p>
