This is a calendar from the Park Theatre (courtesy of Richard Jeha & El Sobrante Historical Society) for the month of June 1950. Sunday June 11 (on this calendar) was the first time I ever went to the Park. “Francis” (the talking mule) was the feature, a rare single feature at the Park as almost all programs were double features, with three program changes a week in those days.
Mr. Jeha (manager and member of the owning family) gave a few local boys (myself included) monthly passes for distributing these calendars in the El Sobrante area and that was the beginning of becoming a regular movie goer and movie theatre buff for me. Some of the happiest days of my youth were spent at the Park.

Other than the misspelling of “tattooed” on June 14 and actor Jeffrey Lynn’s name on the 21st that’s a pretty accurate list…
