After the theater closed, it became a catering hall called the Burnside Manor. Around 1975 after the catering hall closed its doors it became a public school annex. Today the building is used in the medical field.
Just passed the theater. It is in the process of being demolished along with the stores to the c/o 183 st. Looks like they will be tearing down the auditorium also.
The Paradise Lanes website says it’s been part of the community for 46 years. I remember going bowling there about 40 years ago. It was called Harness Lanes and the sign was posted on the old movie theater marquee.
The newspaper article reports that a Wild By Nature supermarket will be built on the vacant lot site and the Walgreens will be built on the theater location.
Under the Gas Heats Best sign embossed on the front of the building it says GARDEN THEATER. Around 1985 the building was being used as storage for an electronics company when it was gutted by a fire.

Looks like the theater is now unoccupied. The marquee has no lettering on it.
The building is not demolished. I believe it is still used as a church.
