It doesn’t look like they have restored the paintings each side of the auditorium, they still appear to be curtained over. The CTA had some input into the restoration of the foyer. In answer to a query long ago, the organ is in a private house near Woking, Surery, UK.
The Regal is now due to re-open in early 2012, with one large screen (with tables in the stalls like the Rex, Berkhamsted) and two new mini-screens on the roof.
A73uk.. This cinema was probably the ODEON, Southgate, located in The Bourne near Southgate Circus. Later the Capitol, now demolished for office block. The Queens was in Palmers Green (where Waitrose store now is)
Concerts on the Wurlitzer resumed in December 2010 and it is currently played on the first Saturday of each month at 4pm. However, Habitat have announced that the store will be closing down on March 19th 2011 and thus the building faces an uncertain future.
The Christie organ from the Regal was re-installed in the Memorial Hall, Barry, Wales, but had to be removed in 2010 and is now in store awaiting a new location. The large Christie organ from the Regal, Marble Arch, was rescued in 2009 by organist Richard Hills and some colleagues, and is also in store awaiting a new home.
And thanks to Kevin’s lead, I discovered that Kieron was the name of the son of the club’s owner, Laurie Boost, who was the business partner of Laurie Jay.
Hi Doolally, I have tried to research that but can’t find much. I believe that Noreik is a fairly common surname in Norway…maybe the owner had Norwegian connections!!
Here’s a poster advertising The Who at Club Noreik on Saturday March 13th 1965. They had also appeared on January 23rd. Gene Vincent appeared there on August 15th 1964 according to genevincentuk website.
The Compton organ has been installed in the theatre part of Watford Town Hall, Hertforshire (known as “The Colosseum”) for many years.It was restored to playable condition in 2008, but sees little regular use.
The former Gaumont/Odeon closed as a cinema in January 1984, so Wood Green was without a cinema for just over 16 years! (It was the Bingo operation at the former Gaumont/Odeon which closed in 1996). Jeremy

The exterior at night appears in the 1972 film “All Coppers Are” but disguised as a bowling alley— which it never was…

Local organ guy Cameron Lloyd tells me that he has offered to buy and remove the organ on many occasions, but the owners shown no interest.

The Hippodrome re-opened as a Wetherspoons pub on March 22nd 2011 (it is named The Hippodrome)

Sadly this cinema has just been demolished (December 2010) for housing and shops. The last of Enfield’s cinemas now gone..
