Babe Ruth performed here in the off season. He toured with a Vaudeville Troupe, there is a great article in the Salt Lake Tribune archives online written about his visit to an orphanage while he was in town.
This was where I saw my 1st R movie, A Clockwork Orange. This also was where I saw Animal House the 1st time. All of my siblings, and their significant others decided to go see it together. It’s a great memory. I believe the movie influenced me in deciding to attend college :)
Ah yes, my two older Sister’s would borrow Dad’s car and take me with them to see movies here. I don’t remember any of them because I would fall asleep in the back seat.
My Mom took me to see the remastered Fantasia here sometime in the 60’s. Also an obscure movie called The Swashbucklers. My friends Mother took us to see The Love Bug. Fun times.
I saw Superman with Christopher Reeve for the 1st time here. It was a family movie night. It’s a super memory I have. Also my wife and I saw L.A. Confidential here.
There are some renovations taking place in the surrounding area. Hopefully the Utah Theatre is on the list. It’s fun to walk around downtown and see some of the remaining buildings. A lot of history. Babe Ruth was part of a Vaudeville Troup that performed at the Utah Theatre (then The Pantages). I saw Earthquake here for the first time, in Sensurround Oooo.
I saw Star Wars for the 1st time here. 1977. Stood in line with my friends. I still remember sitting inside and after a few minutes, the image of that huge battle cruiser making it’s screen debut chasing after the smaller ship. It was AWESOME!!! Also remember seeing the remastered Beatles Hard Days Night with my friends here too. Good memories :)

Took a date to see Star Trek Generations. It was snowing so hard we had to leave before the movie was underway. Got home safely, married the girl.

Invasion Of The Body Snatchers, Dune, Red Dawn, the remastered Return Of The Jedi.
Heavy Metal. Saw it with my friends. Took my Niece to see The Mummy. Good times.
Awakenings, Terms Of Endearment. Saw some flicks with my older Sisters, we bonded with movies and margaritas :)
Took my little Sister to see the 1st Star Trek movie.
Allright! Led Zeppelin The Song Remains The Same. I was on the front row for this one. Also took my Nephews to see The Karate Kid here.
