Maple City Drive-In. Kodachrome image taken by Albert S. “Al” Johnson. Family records show that this was the fifth Michigan drive-in built by Al’s Johnson Construction Company.
Here a man works on the two foundations (or “footings”) to which the screen tower frame will be attached. The six steel I-beams set into the foundation on the right tells us that the tower will have six vertical trusses.
