This is now the Owen Theater. Its one of our local “broadway theaters”. Along with the Conroe “Crighton” theater they put on some pretty good plays for us locals who ain’t going to New York… or Houston.
There was a twin theater, different from this one, in the north end of the North Hills shopping center untill the late 90’s. My wife and I saw Titanic there. The Woodlands 17 theater was just too much competition I guess. It was a $1 movie for awhile then it became the local Social Security office.
The bldg is still there but I don’t think anybody is using it. It looks empty.
