  • <p>Clear view of first balcony foyer.  Beautiful space.  Hard to imagine swinging a wrecking ball at that.</p>
  • <p>When new owners came in after four and a half years since the cinema’s closure, they found it virtually the same as it was March 16, 2020 when the theater closed with these films. Concessions were plentiful though out of date. So they decided to gut the theater for other purposes.</p>
  • <p>Here’s the New Amsterdam in an episode of “Cagney and Lacey”. This is back when it was a movie theater. The marquee states that “First Blood”, the first Rambo movie, is currently playing.</p>

  • <p>I found this ticket between the pages of a book I inherited from my Grandparents. My Grandfather was from Chicago (born 1905) and I believe the book had belonged to his parents, who lived in Chicago all their lives.</p>
