Oasis Drive-In 175 North-West Coastal Highway, Wonthella, WA

Oasis-Drive-In-Opening-Invitation-13-May-1957

Located in the Wonthella, a suburb to the north of Geraldton. The Oasis Drive-In opened on 14th May 1957 with Claudette Colbert in “Thunder on the Hill” and Lex Barker in “Yellow Mountain”, plus selected shorts - (The Geraldton Guardian - 11th May 1960). It had a capacity for 650 cars and there were 50-seats located in the snack bar.

The Oasis Drive-In was closed on 15th May 1985 with Eddie Murphy in “Beverly Hills Cop”. The drive-in had a closing down sale(advertisement in The Geraldton Gazette - 17th May 1985). After closure the land was sold and is a hardware store and garden centre (Bunnings).
