UPDATE – The Carlisle IGA on Orrong Road has been in limbo for more than a year after the site’s owner put forward plans to knock it down and build a 24-hour 7-Eleven petrol station and fast food store. More than 6000 people signed a petition to save the IGA and the Town of Victoria Park also opposed the development, which is on a busy intersection across the road from an existing BP service station. The petition failed and a 7 Eleven store was built on the site.
