  • <p>Went back in 1995 and shot this photo of the main screen at the drive-in. The concession stand walls were still up, but mostly bulldozed. The layout of the drive-in was still apparent at that time. The last films I saw at the Starlite was House on Haunted Hill and Lawrence of Arabia. It was strange seeing epic films on the big screen and the sound coming out of a two-inch speaker. As the late Jean Shepherd (Christmas Story author et al) noted: There’s something less than awe-inspiring at the drive-in when the voice of God in the Ten Commandments is an anemic squeeky chirp…</p>
