CinemaScope was launched in Australia at the Sydney Regent on 9th December 1953. Other Hoyts city, suburban and country venues were progressively equipped over the next two years. Randwick’s turn came after ten months, on Saturday 2nd October 1954 – although 4-track magnetic sound was not initially included in the fit-out.
