The introduction of television to Sydney in 1956 resulted in mass suburban cinema closures over the following years. Randwick Ritz’s day came in 1962 when the theater was sold to the neighboring Brigidine College. The venue stood empty and unused for two years, and the license was allowed to lapse on 18th April 1963.
