Roxy Theatre
Shortly after opening the Nowra Roxy on 14th August 1935, Owen & Sutton took care of their rival – the Crown - by leasing it from owner ‘Dad’ West. In 1939 they sold the Roxy to Edwin Charles Potts (1904-1950) who continued to rent the Crown. A year later West had the Crown reconstructed to plans by Aaron M. Bolot, reopening in early 1941 as ‘Wests’ in competition with Potts. This skirmish appears to have been settled by Potts buying ‘Wests’ from West and continuing to use it as a Saturday night ‘spare’ venue.
