Regent Theatre
Photo of the Regent proscenium taken from the Dress Circle a few days before the theater opened in March 1928. “The artistry, depth and concealed lighting system of the proscenium are most impressive. The ivory colored filigree work reflects golden light which floods the auditorium with magnificence.” Twenty five years later the curtain and screen location was brought forward to better accommodate Fox’s new widescreen process - CinemaScope. The two side boxes were also modified at that time to reduce the distance they protruded into the auditorium.
