For the curious, after more than two decades of retaining the original exterior look of the Kampf Building that once housed the Grand Theatre, Newberry’s redesigned stores across the country with this masked front bathed in “Newberry’s Blue” - shown here at a reopening in 1961. Well after the store’s 1979 closing in Bryan, the masked front has been removed and the Kampf Building has returned to its original look still standing in the 2020s.
