The STRAND may have closed for a time in the 1970’s, but it was showing movies at the time of the fire that destroyed it. Reportedly it was caused by a popcorn machine left on overnight.
The Palace Theatre was showing films until at least the spring of 1976, but by 1983 had been repurposed as a furniture showroom for the adjacent Gambles discount store.
The Lyceum was later named the LAKOTA Theatre. It was in operation at least as late as 1982. The manager at that time was Raymond Kintz. In the mid 1990’s the theater, long closed and dilapidated, was demolished.
The ARCADE Theatre was open and showing films in 1967.
By the early 1980’s the seats and projection equipment were removed and the building re-purposed as a bowling alley.

This is the original Mascot theatre, at 223 main street, not the NEW MASCOT/current MAC theatre in the 300 block.
This building still stands today as the Western Rancher clothing store.
