was in 1949 saw the Hasty Heart. Is it a good investmet to restore. how are dealing with vandals in the other theatres on the Blvd.
I saw the Mummy’s Tomb here in 1942.They fixed the inside to give
a scary effect for the movie. They had a person dressd like the Mummy
walk up the isle slow dragging is leg during the movie whem it was
dark. It worked alots of kids headed out to the lobby.Also saw hellzapoppin there in 1941
I can’t remember when I first went into the Pantages as a boy
I did see Kitty Foyl there in 1940. As a Citizen News paper boy
I got to know the manager and with a some free papers saw some
free movies. The Pantages and the Warner bros were the ones that
impressed the most. Anyone that was able be on the Blvd in the
1930 and 1940 saw Hollywood at its best. I have seen some musicals
sence they convert it. It can’t compare NYC Broadway but don’t let
stop from going
I saw many a movie on Hollywood Blvd between 1939 and 1943
I know this theatre was called the Colony. In 1939 you could see a double feature for 25 cents ( 10 cents for me ) at any time
As I remember it was the Admiral that became the Academy The Vine
This theatre was named the Hunley. I don’t recall going to it. I do
remembering passing it while on the street car going to down town
Los Angeles.The Hollywood Citizen News advertised the showing of the Little Princess ann You Can’t Cheat an Honest Man at the Hunley

It was the Oriental theatre in 1934 it was near the Gardner street
car stop whem it crossed Sunset Blvd.
