I looked beyond the opening week on showtimes. For Turkey Day weekend, the latest time for a movie was 8:20 pm. Have to wait and see if this sticks or location is still trying to find workers and times will be increased.
Looked at listing for Friday 11-17-2023. Does not look that all 13 are ready yet. Wonder how long the 19 screen cinema complex will stay open at Boston Common.
It is with great disappointment that we will not be open this 2021 season due to strains that Covid has placed on us. We will miss you all and the bustling that makes our every summer!
Please keep being safe and careful.
We will be looking forward to seeing everyone in Summer 2022!
That complex I used as my third location for Showcase Cinemas. First choice Randolph. 2nd choice Patriot Place then Revere. Dedham location was closer in distance than Patriot Place, but they never had a late show on weekends.
I have attended on three different dates. 1st time was for the Mr Rodgers bio Won’t You Be My Neighbor? At that time an usher would escort you to your seat. Second time was for the Linda Ronstadt bio The Sound of My Voice. Third time I was in The Dolby Atmos cinema for 1917. Normally, I would attend AMC or Showcase Cinemas, but this is why I attended ShowPlace Icon, For the bio films, neither AMC or Showcase was playing film. For 1917, neither AMC or Showcase was presenting in Dolby Atmos. The sound is amazing in Dolby Atmos. Location is easier to get to by public transportation. Parking is expensive. Think it was 25 dollars without validation on a Saturday night. You need to park in a certain garage to get validated parking. Cinema did not offer this when I drove in and they decided to give me two passes for their error once I complained via e-mail.
Could someone explain what this means: Additionally, select theatres will be presenting Dunkirk in IMAX with laser a re-imagination of the movie theatre experience capable of projecting an image with up to a 1.43:1 aspect ratio. I am trying to figure out if I should see the 70mm version or the IMAX version listed.
I have a few memories of the multiplex. Worst film I saw in cinema 1 Godfather 3. Cinema 2 saw the The Right Stuff and Titanic. either cinema 3 or 4 saw Edward Scissorhands (one or the other had a 70 mm projector. When it was a Sack Cinema 1st movie I saw was Semi-Tough (won passes to film) Did cinema 1 have a curtain?
The DI had a break in 7-19-16. Here are the details of the break in and what was stolen.http://www.recorder.com/Northfield-Drive-In-looking-for-candy-thieves-3582419
On October 6th a rally was held in an attempt to save the Wollaston Theatre. I went for informational purposes only. Where there biggest problems are is the length of time it has been closed (2003) and if you hold a rally you need electronic media coverage to have on their late news. Social media and the local papers can only go so far.
Since there have been no updates for the last 3 years, I thought I would share them. DI is under new ownership for the last 2 years and now serves beer and wine. New owners have shown PPV concerts and UFC fights and have had retro movie weekends in September and horror films during October.
LOCKPORT, N.Y. (WIVB) – The lake effect blast that buried the Ralph, forced the Buffalo Bills to move their home game against the New York Jets to Detroit.
As a result, a special tailgating party was held at the Transit Drive-in Theater in Lockport Monday night.
Fans were chanting, tailgating, and cheering on the Buffalo Bills in the lot.
“We’re all one. The team and the fans are all one,” fan Matt Rosenhahn said.
Some fans said they wanted to see the game in Detroit, but couldn’t make it there.
“We were going to go to Detroit and we decided we couldn’t make it. So we were going to come here because there’s going to be a bunch of people,” Kevin St. Laurent, a Bills fan said.
“We tailgate every week and we couldn’t make it out to Detroit,” Dan Frisicaro, a Bills season ticket holder said.
Frisicaro had the grill going, flags up and brought the cooler and chairs to the lot. “This is the only chance you get to see the Bills on a screen this big.”
Fans said this was much better than watching the game at home.
“You know what, at home you don’t get as much of an atmosphere,” Rosenhahn said. “This is good, because you’ve got the Buffalo fan camaraderie going on right now.”
“I’ve got my cousin in town and he’s from California. I wanted to give him a Bills experience and this is the closest we’re going to get,” DJ Mocarski said.
Anthony Mocarski of California said the atmosphere at the drive-in was great. “Even though it’s a little cold it doesn’t bother me. I’m just happy to be out here with some of the best fans Buffalo has to offer.”
Diehard fans explained they were happy to cheer on their team whether it was in Detroit, at the Ralph or at a drive-in.
“Go Bills!” Frisicaro said.
Admission was free at the drive-in and all proceeds from the snack stand went to the Buffalo City Mission
I went last night to see Tammy and Jersey Boys. Drive In is digital and they show a lot of the old drive in clips to welcome you for attending, PIK bug coil. But the intermission reel starts at the 5 minute mark not the 10 minute mark due to the digital ads. One ad was for a psychic reader. Huh? Oh well, they need to make money. There is also a track for rc cars 3.00 for 5 minute rental.
A member of my high school graduation class was the owner at one point in time of the cinema. He could not compete with a 8 screen multiplex in Quincy MA
Just noticed that UDITOA for sale tab now has 3 locations.
If I hit Mega Millions or Power Ball would love to purchase a drive in.
Would not be surprised if list grows due to no funds for conversion to digital.

To me location has been ruined. Name of location AMC Causeway 13. Before location has even opened, down from 15 to 13.
I had them at 7 cinemas in total before Hoyt’s took over the location. Could be wrong.
Did Hank Kimball or Mr. Haney run the box office? Arnold attended on when a cowboy movie and a Porky Pig cartoon was playing!
I would mark this location closed. The fan page last update was 5-31-2020.
Yelp says June 1st open. Google says closed for good. Nothing FB

Yes I agree on the paint job. Great idea to have a sold out light for each screen.
Great idea! Would not mind seeing this as an alternative where I live in MA when the weather is bad for a traditional drive in movie!

According to posts on The Save Wollaston Theater Face Book page, the auction never happened.

DI will have a 2015 season. Only one screen opening weekend. 2nd screen to be used later in season. No details if 3rd screen will be used for 2015.

Drive In will be digital cinema starting Friday June 14.
