Proscenium.
Deviating from the circular arch of its sister theatres because of the need to accommodate it to the earlier built form of the silent era Victory, the proscenium was a rounded rectangle in shape. This made it ideal for the installation of CinemaScope – still well into the future. The re-designed Victory was nevertheless a Hoyts Regent in all but its World War One commemorative name.
