Right Hand Side of Outer Proscenium.
Cedric Ballantyne’s theatre designs had prosceniums of perforated plaster, echoing the elegance of Moorish architecture as found in the Alhambra and other Spanish buildings, though of more classic patterns. These were set into larger vertically truncated outer prosceniums incorporating decorative stage ‘boxes’. The redecorated theatre came too far into the sound era to have a Wurlitzer pipe organ, but a feature of interval (intermission) entertainment for many years was a Hammond electronic instrument.
