I noticed a lot of “matron’s” mentioned in a lot of theatre stories,seems most of them are from Theatres up North.I assume this position was much like a usher.
What has changed,jesterraceif,seems like according to Bigred89 this must be the worst theatre in the whole state,Can’t believe the did not refund or give his uncle a pass for another movie,At GCC we had special rainchecks only to be given out under rare circumstances.
I been having Nick Dimaggio a good friend from Tampa he has been kind enought to put quite a few pictures on for me. Just sent him a stack of pictures,so i know it takes time.
Lol,Lol, At Regency Mall I,II,and III we somehow had our janitor change the both Road Marquees almost 90% of the time. Coming from Plitt has a House Manager,fancy name for assistant I KNOW,We pretty much came in an hour or so before the theatre opened.I never could understand all this coming in at 10am everyday,especially,in the Winter Months. Honestly,I really can’t remember what all we did at 10am til 1pm when a movie would start.Had a lot of wrap sessions about the business,long lunch at the Mall which was usually free when movie passes were handed out to 21 year old fast food managers in the food court,I am sure you guys did the same thing.Maybe,i made around 200.00 a week,at Plitt it was hourly pay,Had GCC been that with all the hours we all put in,i would have had quite a paycheck from Boston or Chestnut Hill,Mr.Neil it would have been Blood Money,I know. Heck, I stll got my dark blue blazer from GCC in my closet right now.And a tie.I think you guys got the neater ones by your time concerning the Ties.

The Motion picture almanac of 1956 must have been AWFUL slow in removing Drive-ins if this one was gone in 1953.Just printing the Facts in the Almanac,I live on the other side of the State.
Justin,going through some old stuff, found a couple of pairs of “A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET” 3-D glasses.My son,Sean worked in a Theatre like his old man and must have brought them home,Red and Blue lenses made out of paper.Thought of YOU.
1960 “2001” hands down.
1970 “NETWORK” and “ALL THE PRESIDENTS MEN” a very close second.
1980 “THE VERDICT” nothing can touch Newman in this effort.
1990 and beyond movies basically stink with remakes and Great actors,Gone.
Glad you got the Bon-Air on.It has been years,but the last time i walked over to where the Screen was at the Bon-Air you could see where they cut the poles off.
You should get an Award for having to suffer through “LOST HORIZON” almost as bad as “SONG OF NORWAY”.
