When I was popping corn i use to get so pissed when they would run upstairs and grabbed what I POPPED.It got so bad the girls drew Straws to see who would go up and get the Popcorn from Mike.this AT National Hills by the time I got to Columbia Square and Regency I NO LONGER had to Pop.think the girls did it alot at Regency,I think when I started in 1974 it was the Guys JOB.Good Story. I hope to get some pictures up soon from our Regency days when Nick gets to them in Tampa.
you are right Compared to National Hills Theatre it wasn’t as Classy,But Daniel Village did have a nice size screen until Georgia Theatres decided it needed twinning.
Jim Brown Starred in “100 Rifles” I found a one sheet at the MILLER Theatre in Augusta where the Management had covered up a section of Welch and Brown in a Hug.Wonder if the Folks in Florida did the same thing.I left the one-sheet just the way they left it with the paper still on.
what Stinker to open a theatre “MAME” by sunday we were playing to near empty house; 781 seat theatre.Gone Thursday. And an Indie you say.what kind of Stupid booker did they have,
i sent Nick a Picture of Part of the theatre from the parking Lot.Silly me never thought OF GETTING THE WHOLE CINEMA in the Picture,He hasn’t put it on yet, sent him a ton of Pictures.
Before they closed it,My cousin drove down with a VAN FULL OF ONE-SHEETS.They are all in my Basement and Attic.Only a few I wanted,But I saved them from the Dump.
Finally went a few weeks ago to see “TRUE GRIT” first time ever in this monster,They were running movies to empty houses with THE LAMP ON.I couldn’t believe doing something SO STUPID, we never did that, start the film, run it But with the Lamp off.Man, I am glad I am out of the THeatre Business.I hate Stupid Theatre Managers.
Still Closed. The whole place is about gone once BEST BUY and the Theatres Closed.
