Not only was this Eberson’s first atmospheric theater, it was THE first atmospheric theater in the world.

Does anyone know who/what “Holblitzelle” is/was? I found a reference to “Holblitzelle’s Majestic Theatre in Houston” but that is the only information that I have.

Here is some interesting information on a subject rarely discussed on CT:

In 1927, the J.C. Deagon Company installed a 20 tone bell at this theater. Of the 425 or so worldwide installations, only 2 were at theaters: this one & a 10 tone bell at the Mayfair in Asbury Park, NJ. Pretty impressive company!
Both bells were demolished with their respective theaters

opened in 1940 for Paramount Pictures. Now used on a limited basis for live performances.

Jack – did you submit the website link? I can’t find it online.
Is this a spanish language theater? I find it referenced as Theatre Luez in a lot of Spanish yellow pages. Also, the town name suggests that it is located in a latino community or has some connection with South America.
