The correct address (at least for Google) is 6187 Lake Avenue, Elyria, Ohio as previously indicated by Bill Eichelberger. The screen is still standing, but that is the only remains of the drive-in. http://tinyurl.com/zfdnt4d

Side Note: The description states that the large tower the drive-in was named after “shares the space” which is incorrect. You can see the tower just to the SE of the drive-in, but it never was on the same property. I know, it’s probably too picky to change, but I thought I’d point that out.

And a projection booth as well (forgot about that). Still, if they used the area near the hangers or on the airstrips itself, there may be no discernible trace of a drive-in remaining.

I looked at a 1952 aerial photo of the location that Yakima1 cited and there is no evidence of a drive-in scar at that time. So, I do not believe that is the location.

An aerial photo of the field in 1944 compared to the 1952 aerial shows virtually no change at the base. A little research shows that the field was abandoned shortly after WWII, but was not purchased by the city until 1947.

This may sound a little weird, but what if the drive-in was actually part of the field itself in some manner? If they used the paved area for parking, all they would need to do is set up a screen and speakers.

It does appear from the latest Google map that the projection booth/concession stand is still intact.

I cannot speak to whether Elkhart extended into Oklahoma in 1958, but at least according to Google it does now. There is also no other nearby town in Oklahoma where the drive-ins could be associated.

For mapping purposes, the correct address should be Elkhart, Oklahoma.

Kenmore commented about Tuscan Drive-In on Jul 9, 2016 at 6:28 pm

The address should read Elkhart, Oklahoma and not Kansas since the drive-in sits on the Oklahoma side of the border. It appears that the town of Elkhart crosses the border much like Kansas City is in both Kansas and Missouri.

The location of the drive-in is Elkhart, Oklahoma, not Kansas. Google maps it as Elkhart, Oklahoma which means that it crosses the border much like Kansas City does.

A closer address is HWY 95 and US 56, Elkhart, OK. The drive-in is located about ¼ mile to the south of the intersection on the east side of HWY 95. Today, it is private property, but you can still make out the faint ramps. http://tinyurl.com/z26t83h

A closer address is HWY 95 and Road B, Elkhart, OK. The drive-in can be seen just to the west of the intersection on the south side of Road B. Today, it appears to be private property, but the ramps are clearly present. http://tinyurl.com/zk26ge7

This is interesting. There are remnants of TWO drive-ins visible and very near each other. One is located on HWY 95 just south of Elkhart on the east side of the road. The second is a little further south at the intersection of HWY 95 and Road B, sitting on the south side of Road B. http://tinyurl.com/j5le3ot

They both existed and operated at the same time in the early 1970s which seems extraordinary since the tiny town of Elkhart had to have supported them both.

Another potential issue is that both drive-ins are located in Oklahoma. So, the proper map designation would be for Oklahoma, not Elkhart, Kansas. Unfortunately in terms of Google, I cannot get it to map accurately to either drive-in.

It seems unlikely that they are BOTH the Tuscan Drive-In since they both appeared to be operating at the same time in the early ‘70s. However, I really do not know.

You can still see the ramps clearly, otherwise there is nothing remaining of the drive-in. Interesting that the land has not been purchased and used for another purpose.
