This picture is from the UC Davis collection, which generally concerns theaters in Central and Northern California. I don’t think that this is the theater in Delano. The caption doesn’t give a location.
Does anyone know if the Cabrillo Theater in downtown San Diego is listed here under a different name? Here is picture from the San Diego Historical Society:
This picture from the San Diego Historical Society shows a Strand Theater at 6th and B Streets, which is in the Gaslamp District, I think. This may have been a live venue as opposed to showing films.
Can anyone tell me if the Fox Egyptian Theater in San Diego is here under another name? The address was University and Park Avenue. Here is a picture from the San Diego Historical Society:
There is (or was) a Tower Theater in Willows, CA. It should be added if it isn’t here under another name. Here is a picture from the UC Davis Collection:
There is (or was) an El Rey Theater in Paradise, wherever that is. It should be added if it’s not here under another name. Here is a picture from the UC Davis Collection:
I see another S. Charles Lee theater in the UCLA database, called the Chino Theater. Does anyone know if this theater is listed here under a different name?
I can’t help but think of a clothing store that my mother used to patronize in South Jersey called the Ideal – Their slogan was “It’s more than a quonset hut!”, but it really wasn’t. There were quite a few quonset huts still existing in New Jersey in the 1960’s, but I think they are all gone now.
Is this the same theater?
