last movie to show here was “Mother’s Day” a nasty brutal horror movie that was actually unrated.. October of 1980.. think theater closed october 12th..
Right across from barnes nobles formly LP theater was Movies Unlimited. I bought lots of movies there that you couldnt get anywhere else. They would special order stuff. I think they lasted until 2000 or 2001…
ok, got my answer here. The theater closed on October 20th 1991. the last 3 movies that shown here were these, Dead Again. necessary roughness. and a movie called :Shout:
i would love to know when this theater actually closed. marple 10 right down the street opened in nov of 90.. so i wonder if this theater closed soon after or before… ? i wil do some research soon..

Closed in early 1995 , sat empty for almost 2 years and is now a turf club..
Man,, i was there tonight at the barnes and nobles where it once stood. Can’t belive they twinned that big screen. must have been the late 70’s can anyone confirm around when that would have been??
tinseltoes. great find. i never seen the theater before. always heard about it.. wow. it looked really big..
Anyway. did some more research.. In summe of 1985,
Rambo- First Blood Part 2 and LifeForce both played here….
research i did was that 1983 was the last season. Another thing is. they showed almost every low budget horror movie that come along..Looks like it was the horror movie drive -in. to name a few,
Amityville horror
nightmares.
blood beach.
phantasm.
Humongous.
Prom Night.
the fog.
dont go in the house.
the fifth floor.
the boogey man…
to name a few…
research i conducted is that the theater closed in 1983. can’t find any ads for it after that.. if this photo is from the mid 80’s it would make sense.. Lots of low budget horror b flicks shown here during the late 70’s early 80’s..
This theater never really shown any horror movies, they mainly stuck to dramas and comedy’s and some sci-fi’s too.. Not sure when it left the shopping center. somewhere between 89-90 something.. i first visited the barnes and nobles in fall of 95. it was gone by then .
