PLEASE CHANGE ADDRESS TO TO:

ROUTE de L'ANSE VATA, NOUMEA, NEW CALEDONIA

The old address, Faubourg Blanchot, Noumea, Anse Vata, New Caledonia, included the theater name and was sorta mixed up and so Google Map showed the southern United States and Central America.

New Caledonia is about 750 miles east of Australia and is part of the French Republic.

Anyone have a better address, more info or photos?

J.B.; I added these theaters just for you:

The hardtop Grand Theater

At Fort Hood Palmer Theater

Be sure to check out the Fort Hood Map that should be fun, but lots of changes since the 60’s, and don’t forget to check out your journal. The 2 theaters may have not been on the post in the 60’s. If you know anyting about the Howze perhaps you or I should add it to CT. Perhaps you had other theaters on post back then?? You might want to check out the AAFES Website if you went to other posts. You can email me by clicking on my name.

P.S. Always have a flashlight with you (you never know when you might find an old closed theater that heappens to have it’s door unlocked).

WOW, something happened and that was sent to CT without me doing anything. Course I hadn’t finished or proofread. As I was saying.

American Samoa has been a U.S. Territory since about 1900. The United States Postal Service has a 2 letter state abbreviation for all states (Illinois = IL). Territories are listed the same way. American Samoa = AS so I guess the adrress that could be listed, PAGO PAGO AS 76799, but it won’t work if it dosen’t have UNITED STATES after it, such are the quirks of Google. Course AS isn’t very good cause it would’t mean anything to anybody.

Why do I spell it sOmoa instead of sAoma, most of the time? Becaue I was raised in Chicago and that’s how I talk. sorry, Da Bears.

OFF TOPIC
A quick Civics lesson for everyone on American Saoma:

The furthest “piece” of the United States away foem the Mainland
Head of State is the President of the United States
They have a Governor
Elect one non-voting delgate to the U.S. House of Reresetatives
May not vote for U.S. President
Are American Nationals
Can enter and leave the Uniterd States freely
Use U.S. Money, Postage and Post Office

Ken;

“Far away places with strange-soundin' names
Far away over the sea
Those far away places with strange-soundin'names
Are callin', callin' me”

For me this is great fun! We now have a red dot out in the middle of the ocean, not on an island, but between Wake Island, Marshall Iland, Johnston, and Micronesia. Course that American Somoa which is about the size of Washigton DC is sure hard to find.

I’m trying to remember, but I don’t think CT had a Map function when it first started and I think it’s great, when it works. It’s especially nice when the address of the theater is listed and the theater still stands. The problem is sometimes you have to play with the address or understand whats going on to get the map to work right.

The problem with American Somoa is Google Maps and the United States Postal Service. I would guess much to the chagrin of the American Samoans, American Somoa isn’t really a Country but has been a U.S. Teritory since about
