It looks like the same building that was in the 1936 USC photo. You can see more detail in the 1954 photo, though. We were speculating that this block was razed during expansion of the Civic Center.

Going back to the 1954 photo of 8/6/07, I believe it says Linda vertically and then Lea across the bottom of the sign. This would make sense as the theater was already showing Japanese films by that time.
I moved out of Center City in June 1984. Does anyone know when in 1984 the theater was demolished? I believe it was still there when I left.
