Was the soundtrack the original six track from 1968 or the 5.1 remix?
Fri and Sat 70MM shows were perfect. I had the lights done just they were 50 years ago. Too bad we only had about 45 people each day over 4 shows.
Actually Bill, he has about 4 years seniority over me. So you really got a couple of old timers running the film. And yes its nice to get your hands on any film these days.
Mark, I’m sure your colleague will do just as good a job as you. It must be a projectionist’s dream to get your hands on a 70mm print.
The Union County Arts Center is a great place to see classic films. I saw The Bridge on the River Kwai there a few years ago.
Bill, I do not know the screen size. I can only tell you it is in theatre 15. And Sunday I wont be there. I will be at the UNion County Arts Center running The Godfather in 35MM.
For three out of the past four weeks, the highest grossing movie in the US based on per-screen average has been “2001”. If only Stanley were still alive to see this.
Mark, you must be in your glory. What is the screen size at the Garden State 16 theater where 2001 will be presented?
I am going on Sunday.
As I’ve been assisting with this list, I had this theater’s 2001 (70mm) screenings added to the list. http://www.in70mm.com/news/2018/one_movie/index.htm
I was here today and the 70MM is all set. Print arrived today. Looks brand new. Showtimes all week are 12:00 3:30 7:00 10:30.
alpinedownhiller, if Lincoln Square gets it it will be in the Kings theatre 2. The 70MM has been permanently installed in that theatre. At the Regal E Walk its in theatre 12.
I wonder why they never do 70mm here on one of the very largest screens.
@moviebuff82 – I don’t see where you get that. 2001 isn’t even listed to be shown at Rockaway as far as I can see.
@markp Nice! I was hoping 2001 would hit 70mm in NJ somewhere. (On a side note, I wonder if the big 60'+ screen at Lincoln Square will get this in 70mm).

Same weekend as incredibles ii.
I was informed that 70MM 2001 will be here for one week. June 15-21. I am supposed to be handling the projection.
something major where it will be down for a while or just for today?
Today there was a fire at this theater forcing the place to close.
Ahhh, one of my favorite AMC’s!
Yeah it’s sad that Blader Runner didn’t do better business.
I’d say Jersey Gardens IMAX is the best (tied for largest and seems the brightest and crispest of all), then Garden State (this one; tied for largest), then Rockaway, then Clifton (smallest).
The Post is playing at this theater next week before expanding wide the following week.
The IMAX theater in Paramus is quite good. I saw Blade Runner 2049 there and it was stellar (we were two of ten people on an evening in week one, which was sad). It is far and away better than Clifton. We won’t go back to Clifton after that, plus the garage makes it easy to park. Go Monday-Saturday and do your shopping or go Sunday and have the place to yourself.

I can’t recall but is it #6 or #7 that is the one ultra tiny little shoebox theater and screen here?
