Despite it’s status as a historic theatre the auditorium was demolished in 2003 after damage from heavy snow caused the roof to collapse. The lobby building and marquee still remain.

This is the 3-screen Liberty Theatre. I did not know it had closed again? When did that happen?

This is still the Salvation Army store. Walking in you can tell where the former balcony is. How much of the balcony is intact, though, I am unsure of because I did not go upstairs.

The Broadway opened in 1914 and closed in 1965.

Roger Katz commented about Cameo Theatre on Oct 12, 2005 at 4:44 am

The Cameo is not demolished. A video store is in the space where it’s lobby used to be. i’m not sure what occupies the space that Sears took over.

It was also known as the Royal Theatre.

There’s still quite a few unlisted Connecticut theatres. See CinemaTour for a complete listing of all that I know.

It was moved from somewhere else. I’ll ask the Opera House’s director next time I see him where it came from.

It isn’t too “historic.” It’s a typical, ugly shopping plaza cinema.

The concession stand and marquee both still remain.

Roger Katz
Roger Katz commented about Valley Drive-In on Sep 1, 2005 at 5:39 pm

The status should be closed/demolished. It was turned into a golf driving range which later closed as well. There was a rumor last spring that someone was planning to turn this back into a drive-in, but apparently that rumor was unfounded.

Roger Katz commented about Watertown Drive-In on Sep 1, 2005 at 5:38 pm

Should be listed as demolished.
