The 1970 IMPA puts the Kameo in Brooklyn, but I think it’s a typo. This was under the Brandt theater listing. There’s a half page of Brandt theaters, but to narrow it down here is Brooklyn and the Bronx:
Bronx: Post Road Bainbridge, Laconia, Lido, Melba, Wakefield, Ascot, Earl, Kent, Luxor, Bronx Square, Park Plaza, Surrey
There was an article about the Leimert in the LA Times today, or maybe it was yesterday. An $11 million renovation is two years from completion. The article should be on the paper’s website if you want the whole story.
I was in Boulder City a few years ago. I seem to recall that it’s the only city in Nevada that doesn’t have legalized gambling. If I’m wrong, let me know.
Snow White was playing at the Surf Theater.

By 1963 the Ritz and Strand were gone, and the Mesa Drive-In in Camden had been added, according to the IMPA of that year.

It’s the same building in both photos.

Sure. Glad you enjoyed them.
Thanks for the information. I do have to deny authoring the grammatical inconsistency at the top of the page, however.
