Way before AMC LOEWS,Loews Theatres as mentioned by Justin named most of the their theatres after the theatre they took over or built and named after the street or city where the theatre was located, such as Loews Crescent,a take over,or Loews Ackron in Ohio,or Loews 72nd.Street,you see what I mean.
The Hippodrome Theatre,in Nashville Tennessee was like this almost, the only difference it had two boxoffices, one on 5th Ave. and one on 6th.If you came in on the 6th. Ave. side you came in under the screen.
Saw the same thing on the news tonight. The new marquee is to be a replica of the 1930 marquee, also they are to release a reopening date this weekend. Will update when I have more info.
Derek Trucks is the son of Butch Trucks a drummer in the Allman Brothers Band,he is one great guitar player and looks like the late great Daune Allman. Now to get back on-topic it is great that the Imperial still up and running.
Received an e-mail from the Imperial stating the Derek Trucks and the Susan Tedesdi Band will play a concert there on Feburary,10,2011 at 7:00 P.M.This should be a good show.
Melrose Biloxi Partners LLC is listed at this address now. They must have bought the complex from Scene Three, who had bought it E.B. Raskin Company,Scene Three used to shoot videos in the theatre. I still have not been able to see how much of the theatre is still there, although from the outside everything looks the same.
