I didn’t attend this theatre during my visit to Kamloops back in ‘95, but the city is so small that I doubt you’ll have much problem finding it once you get there. The citizenry of Kamloops are predictably gracious.

Hi all, I am new to the site and looking for help. I am a researcher on a book dealing with cinema in British Columbia. I would love to include reminiscences about specific theatres, photos, or any information about how film and theatres in general affected your life and/or community. This would include rented films, documentaries from libraries, as well as local theatres or film study groups. Any information you would like to share would be most welcome.

Anyone interested can contact me at

Thanks for sharing your love of movies!

The Paramount is no longer part of Landmark Cinemas, as the Kelson Group bought the theatre from Landmark in the spring of 2019 and currently leases it to the Kamloops Film Society. Its current website is at the link below:

The Kamloops Film Society at the Paramount Theatre (info on the Kelson Group purchase can be found in its “About the KFS” section)

On that note, Movies (Independent) and Movies (Film Festivals) should also be added to the Functions section for the Paramount.

According to the two articles below, the Paramount was closed by Landmark on April 17, 2019, then was bought by the Kelson Group and reopened on June 14, 2019:
