Here is another shot of the Jewel theatre from the NYC tax photo collection.

I saw a movie there two weeks ago. They not only have the self-service ticketing machines in the front but they also now have them at the box office. They had two people at the box office to help patrons. Soon we won’t have any one selling tickets.
I wonder what it looked like when it showed porn. I’m sorry I didn’t check out the theatres in Times Square but I was scared. I began working in the area in 1988 so I had time to check out movies at the now gone theatres.

I was walking by yesterday and the ‘marquee’ caught my attention. There is now a clothing store, Clothes Horse.
Lyric Theater
Was this still the interior in it’s later years?
Testing.
Lindy Theatre
Thanks, Comfortably Cool.
Might this have been a movie theatre?

I was too scared to go into these theatres. Shame.
Does it still exist or was it gutted?
Was it segregated?
How do I add a URL that will take you to the site?

My mom’s name was Alba. She told me she went to this theatre when they played Spanish-language movies.
So this was a furniture place before it became the Film Forum?
I don’t know if I can post this here…. Here’s a tax photo of the Lindy.

Shame there are no pictures of the interior during its heyday.
Was the auditorium gutted?
Are the photos of the interior prior to demolition still available on Flickr?
Wow, elevators to the box seats.
Imagine this place showing porn? I would love to see pictures from its days showing porn, the interior.
Any remnants of it’s former life as a movie house?

Did anyone go to this theatre when it was showing porn? I would like to know what the condition of this place like during it’s porn days

I heard there is a sign that this coming Monday will be the final day of The Little, it’s closing.
