When the theatre went from a single to a triplex the first thing to open was the balcony theatre. Like discussed before the theatre never closed so the boxing match must have been shown after the blacony theatre had been constructed and the wall dividing the orchestra had not yet been put up, or the boxing was shown on one side.

WOW they screened Cleopatra in 70mm at the Aero, that’s something I would LOVE to see at the Ziegfeld.

The way things work you can’t get even a good 35mm print of My Fair Lady but Warners probably has pristine 70’s of this in the vault :)

I drove by here Saturday and it is still clean and well kept. That awesome marquee, I would hate to see it go. I wonder why nobody grabs this one.

Thanks, it was taken by a friend who managed theatres for many years in Times Square and then on 42 St, he is finally digging through his old stuff and making me copies.
