I’m looking at the list for Atlantic City, and only the Bijou, Capital and Shore are shown as closed and still standing. We know the Bijou has been gone for decades. I have my doubts if the other two are still extant, but I won’t be back in AC for a while to confirm.
I’m no film historian, but I think 1947 was one of the last years where television had not put a dent in movie attendance. Probably through 1950 or so, then the decline began.
This recap of Biloxi post-Katrina mentions that the theater never re-opened. The current status of the damaged building is not commented on anywhere that I could find. http://tinyurl.com/3g7zxd

There aren’t too many buildings, if any, left at this intersection If anyone is around there, let me know if this building is still standing.

Which may be misspelled. The ad spelled Larsen with an E and and not an O.
It looks like late 1999 or sometime shortly thereafter, according to this article:

The Anita is listed in the LA Times theater guide in 1947. This should be added as an aka.

This theater was also known as the Civic Cinema.
If it was being restored in October 2005, wouldn’t the work be done by now?
Advertised as the Larsen in 1951.
