Interesting how it bears such close resemblance to the Lark, Park, and Noyo theatres but with twice as tall a tower.

Actually, Century is operated by Cinemark.

Opened by Edwards Cinemas… not UltraStar. Did UltraStar ever build anything themselves? Maybe the Surprise 12 in AZ?

This photo is not of the Ridge Plaza. Ridge Plaza was an AMC build and that is clearly a GCC behind that sign.

Why the space between the snack bar and candy? Just wanna make it easier to steal?

The AMC Westgate 20 in Glendale, AZ looks similar, and was another Loews started, AMC finished location.

Scheduled to close at end of business 10/26/14.

This theatre was named after the CEO of Cinemark’s wife, Tandy Mitchell. I wonder if its closing will sting just a little bit more than any other.

Opened 11/12/1999. Cinemark took over October 6, 2006.

Did Cinemark actually open this in 1981 or did somebody else?

Scott Neff commented about United Artists Galaxy Stadium 11 on Sep 3, 2014 at 6:10 pm

So the building where the theatre was is actually demolished? Or has the space just been gutted?

Scott Neff commented about Krikorian Peninsula Cinema 9 on Sep 1, 2014 at 9:00 am

If you see the comments on the Promenade Stadium 13, there seems to be agreement that this 9-plex is still part of the 13-plex. Perhaps the listings should be combined?

I can’t find evidence that this theatre is open any longer.

Scott Neff commented about Cinemark Cinema 4 on Aug 14, 2014 at 6:24 pm

Cinemark had actually operated this theatre one time before 2006. I assume they had sublet the property to another operator and when that lease expired they took it back in 2006.

Whoah. Kinda weird to see somebody else take a Movies 10 and subdue it in such a non-Cinemark way.

Scott Neff commented about Regal Promenade Stadium 13 on Aug 10, 2014 at 3:07 pm

Looking for confirmation that this theatre contains the original Krikorian 6/9-plex and is not a completely new build. (I can’t fathom how it would be… nobody DECIDES to build lopsided theatres like this one).

Scott Neff commented about Krikorian Peninsula Cinema 9 on Aug 10, 2014 at 3:05 pm

Did this theatre actually get demolished? I just visited the 13-plex last month and the existing complex (http://cinematreasures.org/theaters/39914) is built in such a way that makes me believe Regal just added four screens and a lobby, renovated the existing screens with stadium seating and called it a day. The 13-plex has a very long hallway leading past three screens (the 7,8,9 expansion?) that leads into a very large square space with restrooms nearby (ie. the original lobby) which then leads into six more screens (the original 1-6).

I haven’t heard anything about Regal acquiring GTC. Unless they know something the rest of the theatre biz doesn’t know yet.

I’ve actually found data elsewhere that suggests that Regal opened this theatre and Century acquired it less than two months afterwards.

Scott Neff commented about Stadium 8 Drive-In on Jul 18, 2014 at 12:03 pm

You must mean the Desert Drive In, in Las Vegas. LVDI is way different. Some of the drive-ins they built had way smaller domes than others. The domes in Glendale and Scottsdale were much smaller, and the one in San Jose, though similar doesn’t seem like it was built with as many windows as Stadium appeared to have.
