The Wicks organ (the largest theatre installation by that firm) was removed and is now in a studio in a residence in B.C.

Famous did not choose to close but were evicted as the space was required for the new heating system that was being installed and the auditorium is now a boiler room

Interesting that the theatre probably was a lot older as it had a complete stage house with a fly tower

The stage infront of the curtain is a small plywood structure the original stage and procenium is located about 10feet behind the screen with a very narrow procenium arch giving a very small 137:1 picture Festival moved the screen forward to allow it to be wider The theatre never had any accoustic treatment and when we were installing the sound for festival we measured reverb time that was gigantic we used to joke the sound from the first show was bouncing around the room well after the movie was over

Was operated as the Rosemary Theatre with asian movies very similar to the Paradise inside including have to have the projectors sitting up on a concrete pad to clear the balcony audiences heads

does anyone remember what it looked like inside colour scheme type of lighting curtain in front of screen even screen size and what the lobby looked like Since it opened as a newsreel theatre i suspect it would have followed the norm of a long narrow converted store with a minimal soundsystem and low intensity projector lamps
