Was going to venture around the old property, (and possibly take pictures) but every time I drive by a cop is there. Wonder if any bad activity is happening on the property to have a cop there every time I drive by.
i remember when they got the mortal kombat arcade game here, i’d see a movie then play for awhile before my aunt would pick me up, i was reigning champ for awhile in the lobby.
Does anyone know more about this company, how to contact them. I’ve been looking for a job the past couple months, and I have experience working in movie theatres. If they’re opening, I would like to inquire if they’re looking for help. I’ll work any hours and as many hours needed.
I hated when they split this theater in half, it’s the only 1 screen old kind of theater I went to as a child, then when they split it in half and I went back I was wondering why they did it.
I thought the back closets at Hoyts Simsbury and the theaters on the far left end of Loews Theatres were small…boy. Theater 12 here is probably the smallest screen I’ve ever seen. I think it’s the same size as my TV in the basement.
When it opened it was one of the best places to go, and when I went there for the last time last year for a pre-release screening it still seemed very well run. Their Enfield Cinema may have improved under their ownership, but when it was a Hoyts it was notorious for being crappy.
The last time i came here it was kind of s#$$ty. Only had one person here and it was the manager. Movie was Team America, my 3rd time seeing the flick, me and my friend were the only people in there, no one checked. We smoked w33d in there just cause whatever it was like no one was there anyway. We thought why not you know? No one came in to check on us. The auditorium smelled like grass and no one checked. Pretty well run place won’t you ask me/
I personally don’t mind the lack of stadium seating, I can go to Plainville or the Palace to get that. The crowd here is better. Wish the seats rocked back, but other than that if a movie I want to see is here instead of Plainville, I’d have no problem coming here for a movie.

awesome thank you.
i love it, but when i go to cinema delux 18 i drink in the parking lot instead of paying $6 for a beer.

One of the last Showcases in the area with conventional seating. The rest either upgraded or closed.
It’s nice having a second run theater back. Thought they didn’t exist in CT anymore until this place reopened.

When I did a job up here a couple months ago, I went here to see a movie after work, One of the best theaters I’ve been to out of CT.
They closed Vernon the same year. This place had bigger screens than Vernon, but Vernon I thought was cleaner.

same here…mini golf, video games, then a movie. Or the movie then the games and golf. Too bad they closed, lots of movie memories here.
to think we got away with that. I wouldn’t do that at any other theatre or anything, but with the way this place was run we thought whatever.
i’m not even kidding about that last comment. We walked out and the manager wasnt even at his front desk.

I used to work here too back in the day
What would the landlord be on to take it back, seriously. Every time I go there it seems to be doing pretty good business.
I went there for In Bruges last week. Nope, same old seats.
One of the only General Cinemas in CT. Had the shadowbox screen in the large auditorium.
Don’t see flat movies here NO MASKING…
Not the best place to see a movie in the area, but it’s the theater I usually end up going to because it’s so damn close to me.
I wonder what they’re going to do with the property. It’s probably just gonna sit there for years.

I also hope they put screen masking in too. Tried to make sure to not see flat movies here. I think it’s an Entertainment Cinemas thing
