This Loews theatre opened December 22, 1999. It is located on New Britain Road at Pequot Road north of I-84.
It features a large concession area with an expanded menue, indoor box office, stadium seating, online ticketing, rocker seats and Dolby Digital sound.
Not one of the most attractive of the newer Loews theatres, but it has an attractive entrance and large spacious lobby.
The theatre was renamed after AMC’s acquisition of Loews Cineplex in 2005.

Well, I like the colored lights and the walls have a nice design too.
One last thing, the theater has 20 screens, not 18.
As with all Loews locations, this is now owned by AMC.
Not the best place to see a movie in the area, but it’s the theater I usually end up going to because it’s so damn close to me.
O.k.
This place is going to get a LIEMAX in theater 19, their largest theater.
It’s supposed to be ready by end of August, should be bigger than Buckland Hill’s IMAX. Theater 19 fits almost 700people.
Can anyone post details on the size of the screen, quality of the projection or sound system, or other aspects of the theater? I think we all know it’s not a “real” IMAX theater (see: http://www.lfexaminer.com/20081016.htm),,) but maybe it provides better quality that could be worth the extra cost to some people? However, if it’s not much better than a regular screen, that would be useful info, even if it’s just opinion.
This opened on December 22nd, 1999. Its grand opening ad is in the photo section.

This theater went through a major renovation in 2015/2016. The lobby has been redesigned to make better use of the space, computerized self-service box office, those coke freestyle machines with hundreds of options, and comfortable reclining seats for all screens except #19 (IMAX). FYI the new reclining seats drastically cut down capacity and it is now assigned seating. This makes advanced purchase of your ticket almost essential for any movie in its first few weeks.
