That part of Forrest Chase is also City Central, the only shops open is a Woolworths suoermarket and a fashion or shoe store(i think?) on the 1st floor level and some offices on the other upper floors above.
There was a card(lobby card?) Frame(holder) seen on an episode of American Pickers(and some theatre seats too, possibly from the Fox Theatre too?). They brought the card holder, but not the theatre seats.
I think the Angus & Robertson book store closed when Boans closed in 1986 and moved to Wamamba Arcade under the Hoyts cinema which replaced the Ambassadors Theatre, until the the arcade closed, and movec back to Murray Street Mall about opposite where it was before(now closed since Angus & Robertson is no longer in business). I think there was a tavern(downstairs, part of the Australia Hotel?) next door to the Angus & Robertson bookshop?
I think that section of Murray Street became a mall(late in 1987? after the demolition of the Boans Department store and Padbury buildings and the Australia Hotel and a book store(Angus % Robertson) and a grocery store(i forget the name, i think owned by a former Lord Mayor of Perth?) in (1986?). There is still a Forrest Place(Forrest Chase is just the name for the shops on the eastern side of Forrest Place. Both Forrest Place and Forrezt Chase are listed on Wikipedia.
The train line from Port Hedland(about 110km away to the west of Goldworthy) passed behind the Goldsworthy Gardens and Drive-in.
Goldsworthy Gardens and Drive-in was located on the north side of De Grey Drive(near the Goldsworthy Mining Office).
This was on the Hay Streetlevel of what was then called City Arcade.
This site(on the ground floor) also includes Mecca Cosmetica(cosmetics store?) and West Elm(furniture and home decorstore).
I think the furniture store was owned by Myer. The building is going to used by the Perth Fringe Festival for a winter festival(i think?).
This the current view of the site now.
The shop that was there was Top Shop(owned by Myer?)(i think?), which has just closed down and is nkw empty.
That part of Forrest Chase is also City Central, the only shops open is a Woolworths suoermarket and a fashion or shoe store(i think?) on the 1st floor level and some offices on the other upper floors above.
This is what is there now on this site.
That episode of “American pickers” was called ‘A Banner pick"(i think?). Billy from 'Baggage battles" was in the epsode too.
Odd name!! Shortest name for a drive-in or any cinema?
This theatre is in pictured in Eureka, Montana in(1976?). Is it the Eureka theatre or another theatre on Eureka, Montana.
There was a card(lobby card?) Frame(holder) seen on an episode of American Pickers(and some theatre seats too, possibly from the Fox Theatre too?). They brought the card holder, but not the theatre seats.
Funny name!!
I think the world record run of a movie was Emanuelle at a theatre somewhere in(Paris, France i think?), about 18 years(i think?).
Odd and interesting name!! Why the name Blue Mouse?
What dies a category C(s) listing mean?
The Angus & Robertson bookshop(in the Australia Hotel, bottom 2 floors) used to be called Alberts Bookshop(mentioned on the Lost Perth facebook page).
I think it might have been Tom the Cheap(grocery?) store that was on the north east corner of Murray Street and Forrest Place?
Is there an aquarium in there as well?
Odd name(drive-in and street(Boulevard)!)!!
I think this theatre might have a connection to the Grand Cinemas chain!?
South side faces the Murray Street Mall. Forrest Chase go’s around the Myer Department store(on the site of the former Boans Department store).
