“80 years ago today, CASABLANCA premiered in New York at the Hollywood Theatre. The movie opened wider after January 1943; hence, was not qualified for the Oscars of 1942 since it didn’t play in Los Angeles during the period of 1942; however, was qualified for the Oscars of 1943; explaining why it won the Best Picture of 1943 Oscar, in 1944.”

I have added this below `60s image of The Cowsills to the Loew’s State page.
However there appears to be a single row of lights instead of three rows as in the above link Al Alvarez posted.
I posted this in 2018.
Can anyone identify the marquee whose underside is shown in the upper right corner?
Can’t recall if I posted it to that theatre’s page or not.
I said why I posted it here in the first sentence.
Because it was referred to in an above April 11, 2009 post, so it updates the content in that post, for those who like to read through all the posts.
Also, subsequent posts mention multiple theatres that are not the Town Theatre.
So some may find it of interest.
The Admins will remove it and the others I assume, if it they deem them to be too far off topic.
The April 11, 2009 post above mentioned Brooks Atkinson Theatre, formerly CBS designated Studio 59/Mansfield Theatre at 256 W 47th, has been renamed The Lena Horne Theatre as of 11/02/22.
