Status should be changed to Closed. It, along with the Skyborn in Fairborn and the Wilmington did NOT open for the 2016 season, and are currently not opening in 2017.
Saw the original Star Wars here twice back in 1977 in the original Cinema II. After they hacked it into 3 parts it was a strange setup. The two new screens took up the back left and back right of the original cinema. You had to walk down a long hallway to get to the front part of the original screen. The screen was HUGE, but the theater looked weird because it was exceptionally wide, but only about 20 rows deep.
13242 S. High Street, Mt. Orab, Ohio would be the approximate address for this DI. Still visible in an overhead Google Maps view and it is visible in the 1959 Historic Aerial.
The Middleburg Heights History link no longer works. Replace the history.php with just history/ and you get to the site. It doesn’t matter though as there are no pictures of the theater or slideshow anymore.
The Middleburg Heights history link above no longer works. The main website is still up, but the history.php part is now just history/ Doesn’t matter though, I cannot find any pictures or slide shows anymore.
In looking at the current and former aerials of this site that foundation looks to be where the ticket booth was. It seems the marquee sign was about 100 feet or so BEFORE this at the curve of the entrance road.
In the current Google Maps Aerial view you can still make out the outline of the entire drive-in and roads in and out even though it is farmland. Zooming in you can see the concrete base of the screen tower still there.
Google Street View from July of 2014 shows the theater still producing live productions…and there’s a 1960’s or 70’s Oldsmobile 442 parked across the street :)

The CVS is currently under construction, steel framework is already in place.

Looking at the Google Street view as of September 2016 it appears the outside front of the building is still as it was 100 years ago.

This is about 9 years too late, but the sign at the Henry Ford Museum is for the Douglas Auto Theater in Kalamazoo, Michigan.

An August 2016 Google street view shows the marquee in very bad shape and only the F and A left from the word FAIRBORN. Not looking to promising.
