Coke,Sprite, and Orange drink is all we ever had in our Nashville theatres. How many times have you changed a CO2 tank Mike? I know I did it many times seems like out “Candy Girls” could not do it.
If you and your friends all got there at the same time this would not be an issue, also unless the theatre is packed there should not be a problem to begin with. One time at the LOEWS CRESCENT we sold more tickets than seats,of course we gave out some refunds, very rare to say, some people watched the movie standing in the back or on the floor, they did not want their money back.I remember we wrote on the refund forms SRO,standing room only, this only happened once in all my time in the business.
Well Mike as I said before I do not know of LOEWS policy on X rated films, but I worked both of these shows at both theatres and they were rated X I was there, who ever made those comments may have worked for LOEWS earlier than I did, this was in the late 70s and they may have revised their policy or just showed these a an experiment, also I do not remember us playing any NC-17 films.I am not confused about this issue.Remember LOEWS has been around over 100 years now and I am sure they changed their policys over the years as other chains did too.
Well we did show both of these as an X did not do hardly any business and they only ran for 1 week.As I said this was the only X rated movie we showed in my time I do not know about other cities. These movies would be rated R today, and they were far from XXX.
No Mike we hardly ever showed X but we did show Last Tango in Paris at the LOEWS CRESENT and a cartoon X rated movie called HEAVY TRAFFIC at the LOEWS MELROSE once The LOEWS MADISON did not show this movie although the MADISON and MELROSE always ran day and date.THis was the only time I remember that they did not run the same program.
Thanks MagicMan.
